Factory AI
Factory AI
Section titled “Factory AI”CLI Agent / Browser Based IDE
https://www.factory.ai/
https://x.com/FactoryAI
An advanced AI coding tool: generates complex apps, docs, works well with large existing projects, has access to web search, MCPs, can run code on my local machine + UX is 👍 . best for coders. I’m building “Inbox agent” using this tool, gonna report back soon
Key Features
Section titled “Key Features”- End-to-End Agentic Droids
Delegate entire software development tasks—from planning and testing to documentation and pull requests—to AI agents called Droids, not just autocomplete snippets. - Parallelizable AI Engineers
Spin up as many Droids as you have browser tabs, enabling simultaneous, independent workflows that tackle incidents, backlog items, and documentation in parallel. - Deep Context & Cross-Tool Awareness
Droids access your full engineering stack—code repos, CI pipelines, cloud consoles, logs, and design docs—to diagnose, fix, and ship with complete situational understanding. - Permission-Gated Automation with Checkpointing
Every action (CLI command, file update, deployment) requires explicit approval, and you can save or revert to session checkpoints, ensuring auditability and safe exploration. - Enterprise-Grade Compliance & Deployment
Deploy Factory on-premise or in your private cloud, integrate with SSO/SAML, and meet SOC II, GDPR, ISO 42001, and CCPA standards, all while extending functionality via the Model Context Protocol.
Summary
Section titled “Summary”One of the most striking innovations in Factory.ai is how its Droids transform incident response into a near-instantaneous process. When an alert fires, a Droid can trace the root cause across logs and infrastructure, propose a feature-flag rollback, generate the full pull request with tests, and even post an RCA document—all in under 20 minutes. This level of parallelized, context-rich automation doesn’t just speed up your team; it reshapes how organizations think about reliability, security, and continuous delivery.
2026.09.08
Section titled “2026.09.08”Status: active — now a $1.5B enterprise leader. Huge round.
- Raised a $150M Series C at a $1.5B valuation (announced Apr 16, 2026), led by Khosla Ventures (Keith Rabois joined the board) with Sequoia, Blackstone, Insight, NEA, 20VC, Mantis. Up 5x from its $300M Series B ($50M, Sept 2025).
- Claims revenue doubling month-over-month for six straight months; Droids used daily by hundreds of thousands of developers at Nvidia, Adobe, EY, Morgan Stanley, Palo Alto Networks, Adyen, MongoDB, Bayer, Zapier, etc.
- Rebranded its offering to “Factory 2.0” (June 2026) — from “coding agent” to a full “software factory.” New: Missions (long-horizon, multi-agent workflows that tackle weeks of work), Factory Desktop (Droids natively on your machine with full system access + local context).
- Model-agnostic (Claude 4.5, DeepSeek, others); as of Aug 2026 can even run Droids locally on an NVIDIA DGX Spark (Nemotron) for air-gapped work. Still #1 on leading SWE-agent benchmarks; expanding to London (Q2 2026) and Tokyo (Q3 2026).
